Winemaker event with domaine divio

I am so happy to welcome winemaker Bruno Corneaux of Domaine Divio to Astoria!
Domaine Divio is a boutique, family-owned winery situated in the heart of the Ribbon Ridge AVA in Newberg, Oregon, founded by fourth-generation Burgundian grape grower Bruno Corneaux and his wife Isabelle. I discovered the wines a few years ago and they have become a fast favorite of mine. The discovery of Domaine Divio is also what led me to Isabelle’s company, Wine Detours, that is responsible for the amazing Burgundy Brut on the Road trips!
Bruno brings traditional Burgundian winemaking and sustainable, organic farming practices to the Willamette Valley, specializing in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Aligoté, and sparkling wines.
Even though I highly recommend a trip to the tasting room…you can enjoy the wines right here in Astoria on October 22nd and 23rd.
Bruno will be at Brut on Thursday, October 22nd from 4:30-7:00pm where I will be featuring wine flights of three Domaine Divio wines. This is a great way to meet the winemaker and learn more about the wines!
And then on Friday, the 23rd, you can enjoy the wines paired with Chef Jake’s delicious food at Daphne. Contact the restaurant for more details and reservations (daphneastoria.com).

GET OUT AND VOTE EVENT
Tuesday, October 27th | 4:00-6:00pm
Remember the days of standing in line for your turn to vote at your local precinct? Though the lines could be long, there was an excitement in the air because you were there with your neighbors, each and every one of you exercising our most important American right....your right to vote.
In Oregon, we have universal mail-in voting. It's admittedly a better system that increases turnout, builds in safety and security, and ensures that every vote is counted. But we miss out on that sense of community, of standing with your neighbors to exercise that fundamental right. And another thing...you don't get that little sticker that told everyone, "I Voted".
So, let's take a moment to celebrate the act of voting as a community of voters. Join me at Brut on Tuesday, October 27th from 4-6 pm (Brut will be open normal hours of 3-9pm). Show a photo of yourself dropping off your ballot and get $1off a glass of wine or beer and get a very cool "I Voted" Sticker!
This isn’t an event to argue local or national politics…it’s just a time to come together and celebrate community and our right to vote. Cheers!
